Road Team Tryouts

Road Team tryouts will be held in June at the Plymouth St facility. Tryouts 5:00 - 8:00, sign in at 4:30

Note: The fields are closed to practice during these nights.

MONDAY JUNE 20, 2011 (please not the changes below in Red:  we have added a half hour to each session to allow for more time for the girls to be assessed by the professional group) The tryouts will be conducted in 2 sessions (split by alphabet....last name)...wait list and tryout only are expected to attend. 
GROUP 1  (AA - LE):  Registration begins @ 4:00....TRYOUTS will run from 4:30-6:30  
GROUP 2  (LI-ZZ):       Registration begins @ 6:00.....TRYOUTS will run from 6:30-8:30
 
Dues to a Mansfield Youth Soccer team qualifying for the U12 BAYS playoffs in a bid to represent BAYS in MTOC (Mass Tournament of Champions) The Upcoming tryouts for next year's u13/14 Boys (current 6th & 7th graders) will once again be cancelled. Other conflicts also factored in to the decision to reschedule. The new date will be Tuesday, June 21, registration beginning at 4:30 (new #'s will be randomly assigned) with the tryout beginning at 5:00.

IMPORTANT:  All players must be registered for Road Team by May 21 in order to participate in try outs.  Absolutely no registrations will be accepted on the day of tryouts. 

No makeup tryouts are scheduled this year. If a player cannot make their scheduled tryout, please contact Bob Rowe

Uniforms sizes may be confirmed at the tryouts. These sizes were entered at the time of registration.

Placement on the travel teams is primarily based on the tryouts. Therefore it is important for your child attend. In addition to the tryout, if your child is on a road team in the U10 through U13 age group, they will be evaluated playing with their current team this spring on one of the last two weeks of the season. We also look at their current coach’s evaluation of a player when compiling the teams for next year.

Players are placed on teams and then a coach is chosen based on the players on that team. If anyone is interested in coaching a travel team, please fill out the coaching application available on our website.

The U9 teams will be balanced, meaning that teams will be put together so they are equal. There will be no “A” team.  At this age group, skills are still being developed and placing players on an “A” team could be a false assessment of a player’s ability.  The important thing at this age group is that the kids are playing soccer and having fun.   The U10 teams may also be balanced based on the results of the tryouts.  At U11 there will be an “A” team; the remaining teams may be balanced based on the results of the tryouts.

With all travel teams, Mansfield Youth Soccer’s policy is that all players must play at least 50 % of every game.
