Once a Dream...

Three years ago a small group of dedicated parents from Mansfield Youth Soccer kicked off a campaign to raise $1 million for renovating the fields at the Plymouth Street soccer complex and installing a year round synthetic turf field.

The group vowed to raise the money using only private or corporate funds. It was an ambitious effort, especially with the tough economy,  but the group persevered and the town's residents and businesses have been tremendously supportive.

Today the Fields of Green Committee is proud to announce that the total raised is $485,000 and has has secured a $500,000 loan.   This covers the construction cost of an 11v11 turf field as well as the cost of improving the drainage of the surrounding grass area.

Thank you to all the members of the soccer program, residents and the local business community who have given so much to this project. There are still many ways to help the project be built to full specifications such as sponsoring spectator seating(bleachers),  team seating, field lighting, score board, safety netting, etc.   Contact us at fieldsofgreen@mansfieldyouthsoccer.com. Each dollar we fall short is an alternative we need to leave out of the project.

The RIBBON CUTTING ceremony and following grand celebration will be held on the NEW TURF FIELD on Oct 2. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be followed by a wonderful celebration for Mansfield Youth Soccer and the Mansfield community.  We will communicate details to our soccer community as the completion date approaches in late September.
