MYS Turns 30...
MYS is kicking off a celebration! MYS was officially established as a 501(c) non-profit youth organization in 1983 and the first games kicked off in the spring of 1984. The early games of MYS were played on fields around the schools and Memorial Park. Through the years MYS has expanded considerably by offering the sport of soccer to the growing youth population in Mansfield. The growth led to a vision to build a recreation complex at Plymouth Street. The development of the Plymouth Street complex was executed in two phases. The first phase included the “back fields”. The second phase, which was the development of the “front fields”, was achieved by a partnership with the town of Mansfield and MYS. Towards the partnership MYS donated a matching gift of $94,000. This major field development project was completed in late 2000. As recent as 2010, MYS led an $1 million dollar fundraising and field development effort which resulted in the installation of the regulation size artificial turf field and renovated front field area. To find out more, see the Spring 2013 Newsletter
Intown games will be played Saturday May 25! An updated practice schedule is posted, note the days on the bottom tabs as well as field number changes. Intown schedule is now posted. Border League schedule is now available. See the field map, remember to follow the turf policy to keep it looking great!

A Note of Thanks...
A travel coach was kind enough to let us know what he thought of MYS:
Just wanted to drop you a quick email of thanks to your coaches and official for being such great hosts this past weekend. I was especially impressed with the young official that worked the game. She didn't appear to be very old, however she managed the game with that of an experienced official. She moved around the field well, made the calls with conviction and her hand signals were very visible. I don't think I heard one moan or complaint from either coach or group of parents and that is to be commended.
