Summer Pick Up Soccer...

Back by popular demand summer soccer pick up will held on Wednesday nights at the Plymouth Street fields. July 8, 15, 22, 29 Aug 5, 12 Game time is 6:00 - 7:00 with SIGN IN starting at 5:45pm. There is no need to sign up a head of time; kids just show up to play (shin guards required). Once at the fields, the kids will be randomly assigned a team and field then they JUST PLAY. Boys and Girls age 8 (going into 3rd grade this Fall 09) and above are welcome. The format of the night is not structured as skill sessions, the night will be full of 6 v 6 and 8 v 8 games with no refs or coaches. There will be adult volunteers as game coordinators. Any parent interested in helping with the games please inform the "lead volunteers" when you get to the field.

MHS Hornets Camp...

Once again Kevin Smith and his Hornets Camp will support MYS. Two weeks are available, July 27 - July 31, Aug. 3 - Aug. 7, with half day option. Training sessions will be geared to help players improve techniques of dribbling, passing, shooting, and receiving. Sessions will also help players improve their tactical decision making within game settings. Instruction will focus on attacking and defending in 1v1 through 2v2 situations for the less experienced players and up through 4v4 for the more experienced players. Welcome To Our New Registrar...

MYS welcomes Christine Eddy as the newest member to the board of directors. Christine has been voted in as the MYS Registrar and we look forward to working closely with her. We thank all those who expressed interest in the position. Our program continues to grow stronger with help from so many volunteers. MYS thanks Tiffany Persechini for her time on the board. Tiffany has been a dedicated volunteer who has helped build our program stronger and who will be missed by many.

MYS Board Opening...

Effective May, 2009, MYS has redefined the board position of Field Director to align it with it's supervisory nature. The physical requirements previously associated with the position have been delegated to a volunteer Field Preparation team. Under the management of the Field Director, the Field Preparation team is responsible for the weekly field maintenance. This modification has helped make the position more manageable.
